Workshop on “Forensic Science and Judicial Process” organized

JAMMU, Mar 23: In order to sensitise the role players in Criminal Justice System, a two day workshop was organised by the State Judicial Academy.   Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Chaiman Commitee, State Judicial Academy in his inaugural address emphasized the objective of this workshop on “Criminal Justice and Forensic Process”.
Justice Attar impressed upon the trainees to make optimum use of the expertise of the resource persons, and to improve their professional skills, knowledge about how to proceed, right from the beginning when a report is filed, how to collect physical evidence and later how to prosecute. He emphasized the importance of the programme and stated that the entire purpose of these institutions of Criminal Justice System is to ensure order in the society. Therefore, the understanding of these concepts by all the stake holders will have a direct bearing on the efficiency of the maintenance of law and order.
Suresh Kumar Sharma, Registrar General State High Court and Incharge Director State Judicial Academy appraised about the importance of the imparting of continuous training even while on job as part of the regular curriculum of any professional organisation.
It is very important that the guardians of law are ahead of the outlaws so as to maintain order or else there will be uncertainty while orderly society deteriorates into anarchy and lawlessness resulting into issues of naxalites and other prohibited militant outfits, to whom common people approach in case of failure of the system to deliver.
The workshop was conducted by forensic experts Dr. T.S.N. Murthy, Director (Technical) and GVSV Prasad, Director, Truth Labs., Hyderabad.
About 80 officers of Jammu Province including  newly appointed Additional Sessions Judges, Public Prosecutors, newly appointed Judicial Magistrates, Police Prosecutors, and Investigation Officers and Scieitfic officers from FSL, Jammu participated.
