Workshop on implementation of Rajiv Awas Yojna organised

SRINAGAR, June 5: A two days workshop on implementation of Rajiv Awas Yojna scheme in six cities of the state got underway here today.
In a press release, the media relations officer of Srinagar Municipal Corporation said that the scheme has been implemented in Srinagar, Jammu, Anantnag, Udhampur, Kathua and Leh. The workshop was inaugurated by Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department.
The Principal Secretary after welcoming the team of Rajiv Awas Yojna headed by its Director Dipti Gour Mukerjee, explained the features of scheme in the perspective of guidelines formulated by the Ministry of Urban Development/Poverty Alleviation, Government of India which emphasis the need to conduct survey through the agency engaged by the Government for development of slum dwelling by providing basic services to the urban poor.
Dipti Gour gave a power point presentation of the Rajiv Awas Yojna.
