World Fencing Day celebrated with enthusiasm

JAMMU, Sept 9: World Fencing Day was today celebrated with great enthusiasm and gusto at Maulana Azad Stadium, here.
A number of events were organized at the M A Stadium wherein the boys and girls displayed their skills in fencing.
The organizers had made all arrangements and they involved themselves fully to make it a memorable event. Different matches were organized among the students, who come to the stadium to learn fencing techniques.
They were ably guided by the Fencing Coach, J&K State Sports Council Rachna Jamwal thereby showing ‘Solidarity’ with the learners, which is the driving theme for this year’s celebrations.
A large number of fencing lovers were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile cake was also cut by the senior and veteran sportspersons on the occasion to mark the day.
World Fencing Day was also celebrated by various affiliated bodies at various places of Jammu.
Various matches were organized wherein young boys and girls participated. It is pertinent to mention here that the World Fencing Day was celebrated for the first time ever since the introduction of fencing sport to the world. The idea was to reach this sport to a maximum number of people and to help as many people as possible learn about fencing.
