POONCH, Sept 7: In connection with 50th anniversary of India’s victory in Indo-Pak war, a wreath laying ceremony was held at Raja-Rani Picket near Line of Control, here today.
Chief of Staff, Lucknow Central Command, Lt Gen G S Shergill, who is also Colonel of Sikh Regiment, had specially arrived here for laying wreath on the war memorial and paying his tributes to those brave soldiers of Sikh Regiment who had captured this picket by sacrificing themselves.
Lt Gen G S Shergill also met Ex-Servicemen.
Commander of Poonch Brigade, Brigadier N S Brar and Deputy Chairman of the J&K Legislative Council, Jahangir Mir were also present on the occasion and laid wreath on the war memorial.
