Wrestler Deepak lifts 46th Muttal Dangal title

UDHAMPUR, Apr 23: Wrestler Deepak Kakran of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi lifted 46th Annual Muttal Dangal title by defeating wrestler Babba of Kot Bhawal in the final bout, organized at Muttal, here today.
The wrestling event was organised by the Muttal Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Sarpanch Makhan Lal (President) and other committee members.
Swarn Singh Rathore, prominent wrestling promoter and vice president of BJP Udhampur district was the chief guest, while Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association presided over the function.
Parvez, actor of Dogri film ‘Mouj Masti’, Hans Raj, president Apni Party Udhampur district, Ram Parsotam, president NC Udhampur district, contractor Karnail Singh, Naresh Kumar and Rajinder Kumar Ramotra were the guests of honour.
The winner of the final bout (Deepak Kakran) was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 31,000, while runner-up (Babba) was awarded with cash prize of Rs 20,000.
Shiv Kumar Sharma honoured prominent social activist Gandarb Chand of Muttal village during the event.
The second bout was won by Ajay Sharma by defeating Abhishek, while another 2nd bout was won by wrestler Rashid by trouncing Sonu and 3rd bout was won by wrestler Bablu who defeated Zakker of Lallian.
Makhan Lal (President), Channay Ram (Chairman), Chuni Lal (Vice Chairman), Sukhdev Singh (Vice-President), Rakesh Kumar (Cashier), Vijay Kumar (Panch), Mast Ram, Gulam Mohd.( Panch ), Darshan Singh (Panch), Sham Lal (Panch), Yusuf Din and Om Parkash Verma were the members of organizing committee.
A total of 47 bouts were played during the event, while the proceedings of the event were conducted by Naresh Kumar, Channay Ram and Rajinder Kumar Ramotra.
