Wrestler from Punjab wins Ardhan Kesari Dangal title

JAMMU, Mar 26: The historic annual Ardhan Dangal was organized by Dhara Ardhaan Pail Dangal Committee in Ardhaan village of Akhnoor area here today. More than 100 bouts took place where many national level wrestlers from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Maharashtra showed their strength.
Wrestler Major of Dera Baba Punjab won the biggest prize money of Rs 1, 31,000 by defeating Biniya Amin of Jammu. In the second biggest match, Ravi Behera won the bout worth Rs 1, 21000 by defeating Vikrant of Haryana, while Farooq of Punjab won the third biggest bout of Rs 51000 by defeating Yudhveer of Delhi. Most of the matches in Dangal were exciting. During this, DSP KD Bhagat was the chief guest while BJP leader Narendra Bhau, DDC member Bhushan Baral and social worker Darshan Singh Chib were present as honored guests.
On this occasion, thousands of people from many panchayats of Akhnoor area had come to enjoy the dance. During this, Chief Guest KD Bhagat said that Dangal is our ancient game in which the youth of our region have earned their name far and wide. He said that youth should get more involved in sports so that they will stay away from bad habits like drug abuse.
On this occasion, Jatinder Singh, Kuljeet Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Mohinder, Kartar Chand, Munish, Pappu Kumar, Chaman Lal, Surinder, Surjeet, Nanak, Ajal Singh, Sanjay, Amit, Ajit, Rajinder, Faqir, Bodh Raj, koshal Kumar, Somesh, Ram Pal, Sohan, Yash Pal, Rashpal, Parma Nand and all other members of Dhara Ardhaan Pail Dangal Committee had a special contribution for successful completion of the historical dangal.
