Wrestler Gani wins Bambyal Kesari Dangal title

KATRA, June 25: Wrestler Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab clinched 57th Bambyal Kesari Dangal title 2012 by defeating wrestler Amit of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi in the main bout which lasted for 11 minutes, here today.
The event was organized by Dangal Committee Bambyal under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Bambyal, under the supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma.
Gani was awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 by chief guest Rakesh Wazir and Shiv Kumar Sharma, while runner-up wrestler Amit got Rs 12,000.
49 bouts were played wherein local wrestlers, besides wrestlers from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and J&K Participated. In the second main bout Jakker of Sarore, Jammu beat Wrestler Soffian of Panipat, Haryana. Rs 4,000 was awarded to Jakker, while Rs 3,000 was given to runner up Wrestler Soffian.
The technical committee members who helped for conduct of Dangal included Sarpanches Ram Singh, Ch Manzoor Hussian, Chairman, Panch Gulam Nabi, Ch Bashir Ahmed Ex Naib Sarpanch, Bishan Dass, Organizer, Om Parkash Sharma, Bittu Raina, Mohd Fareed and Murli Dhar.
