JAMMU, Feb 9: Former International Wrestler and SSP, J&K Police Dushyant Sharma felicitated wrestler Munir Ahmad for winning Bronze medal in 86 kg weight categories in Senior National Wrestling Championship here today. Munir is the Alumni of Bajrangi Akhara Shalamar Road Jammu and presently attached with the Central Sports Police team of J&K Police.
Dushyant Sharma, who himself trained at Bajrangi Akhara, has been a source of inspiration for Munir since he first started pursuing a career in wrestling. Dushyant Sharma has consistently supported and encouraged Munir in his endeavours to win a medal at the national level.
Additionally, he shared details with him about the arduous bouts he engaged in with globally recognized wrestlers and opponents from different regions of India, all in his pursuit of securing a medal in the Senior National Wrestling Championship.
Afterwards, Dushyant Sharma expressed his congratulations to Munir Ahmed for his achievement of winning the Bronze Medal at the National Wrestling Championship, representing both J&K Police and the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He extended his best wishes for his selection to attend the National Wrestling Coaching Camp at the Sports Authority of India Centre at Sonipat, Haryana for participation of Indian wrestling contingent in Olympic Games 2024 Paris and other international tournaments.
Others who also present were Dheeraj Sharma, former National Wrestling Medallist and (NIS Qualified Coach) Pahalwan Lalu Bajrangi, Liaqat Ali and others.
