REASI, Feb 23: J&K Police wrestler Nisar Ahmed lifted Shiv Khori Kesari title in Indian style of wrestling (Dangal), organised at Government High School, Ransoo here.
The Dangal organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K Tourism Department, Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board Ransoo (Reasi), Shiv Khori Dangal Committee and District Administration Reasi under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Kewal Krishan.
Former Minister, Ajay Nanda was the chief guest while former Joint Secretary JKSC and vice president of the Association presided over the function.
ASP Surjit Kumar Bhagat, Tehsildar Lekh Raj, Deputy CMO M.Y Khan and DySP Waseem Hamdani were the guests of honour.
Shiv K Sharma thanked Raj Kumar Katoch, Director Tourism Jammu for giving financial assistance of Rs 1,00,000 and Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi who is also Vice Chairperson of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board for giving financial assistance of Rs 50,000 for conducting wrestling competition here.
46 bouts were played during the competition in which local wrestlers and wrestlers from various parts of the country participated.
Wrestler Nisar Ahmed declared winner of the 22nd Shiv Khori Kesari Dangal and awarded with Rs 8,000 along with Silver “Gurj and Patta” while runner up wrestler Gamma from Punjab got Rs 7,000.
Two women bouts were also played between Payal of Ransoo and Meenakshi of Kotla and Rajani of Gool and Neelakshi of Ikhani in which Payal and Neelakshi were declared as winners.
