AKHNOOR, Oct 26: Wrestler Ravi Vehran of Punjab clinched the Annual Akhnoor Kesari Dangal title by defeating wrestler Benia Min of Jammu and Kashmir.
The mega historic and famous one day wrestling event was organized by Akhnoor Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Vipan Gupta, President Akhnoor Dangal Committee.
In the top bout, wrestler Ravi Vehra defeated Biniya Min to win the first prize of Rs 1,21,000. Whereas Kamaljit of Amritsar won the second top bout worth Rs 71,000 by defeating Rashid of Domana. Similarly, for the third bout, Sonu of Sirsa defeated Yudhveer of Delhi and got Rs 51,000. Around 80 bouts were organised during the historical Dangal.
Vipan Gupta, President Akhnoor Dangal Committee, said that this historical dangal has been organized since before independence. He said that famous wrestlers from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Maharashtra participate every year in Dangal.
Former MLA Rajiv Sharma, SSP Mohanlal Bhagat, SDPO KD Bhagat, Dev Raj Bhagat, Mahamandaleshwar Rameshwar Das, Lieutenant Colonel Shivam, SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma, SHO Akhnoor Zaheer Manhas, former President of Yuva Rajput Sabha Rajan Singh Happy were prominently present.
Social workers Shiv Gupta, Ballu Takaiya, Jatinder Singh, Sham Magotra, Shiva, Rahul Langer and other dignitaries were present in the organizing committee.
