Wrestlers Benia-Parveen share Chamba Dangal title

KATRA, Nov22: Chamba Kesari Vishal Dangal 2016 was organized by Zila Kushti Sanga Chamba (H.P) under the overall supervision of Rajeshawar Singh Thakur, General Secretary and Azam Sheikh at Police ground Chamba.
The 1st malli bout was played between wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police and Parveen Bholla of Chand Roop Akhara Delhi. This bout ended in a draw that lasted for 35 minutes and both the wrestlers shared the dangal title. Rs. 1,10,000 were jointly awarded to both the wrestlers.
2nd malli main bout was won by Manna of Zirakpur, Chandigarh who defeated Farooq of Sarore, Jammu. Cash prize of Rs. 31,000 was awarded to winner wrestler Manna while runners-up wrestler Farooq was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 20,000 and the 3rd malli bout was won by Nisar of Doda of J&K Police who defeated Gurpreet of Zasihpur, Chandigarh.
Additional SP Chamba, Virender Thakur was the chief guest who gave away cash prizes among the winner and runner-up wrestlers. Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Neelam Nayyar, President Muncipal Committee Chamba, Pawan Dev, Secretary Himachal Pardesh Congress Committee and retired SP Prithvi Raj Sharma were the guests of honour. DySP Bir Bahadur Singh was also present on the occasion.
The proceedings of the dangal were conducted by Azam Sheikh and Sagar while welcome address was presented by Rajshawar Singh Thakur.
The vote of thanks was presented by Raj Singh Thakur.
