Udhampur, Nov 19: Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Championship concluded, here today.
The overall Championship was claimed by Udhampur Tehsil and runners-up were Ramnagar Tehsil.
The Championship was organized by Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, sponsored by J&K State Sports Council at Subash Stadium Udhampur.
The Championship was held under the overall supervision of President Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association, Sunil Badyal and General Secretary Om Parkash Verma.
Forty three Wrestlers participated in seven weight categories of 50Kg, 55Kg, 61Kg, 67Kg, 75Kg, 85Kg, and 96Kg in the event.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Jammu and Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who presented medals, certificates to the winners in presence of the guest of honour, Vice-Chairman Udhampur District Sports Council Rahil Gupta and Incharge Subash Stadium Satish Chopra.
Director of the Competition, NIS Wrestling Coach, Mulk Raj Sharma conducted the proceedings of the programme, while the vote of thanks was presented by Bansi Lal Tidyal.
The bouts were officiated by Tulinder Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Laxhman Singh Katoch, Lochan Singh, Pankaj Sadotra and Sat Paul.
