RAJOURI, Nov 2: 12th District Wushu Championship, organised by Wushu Association Rajouri, concluded at Harsh Niketan Higher Secondary School Sunderbani, here today.
Around 100 participants from different parts of the district participated in the championship.
On this occasion, Rajinder Sharma, District Development Council (DDC) Sunderbani was the chief guest, whereas Ajay Sharma, Physical Education Lecturer/ZEPO Sunderbani and Captain (Retd) Ramesh Kumar were guests of honour.
Avinash Dogra, Sukhdev Singh, Ashok Bakshi (Councillor), Vivek Bharati as well as officials of the championship including Azmat Bibi, Amit Sharma, Savita Chib, Sarita Thakur and Charan Singh Slathia were present during the event.
In boy’s category, Aniket Lahotra, Adarsh Sharma, Vansh Kumar, Sumit Raina, Ranju Kumar, Shiven Mahajan and Ritvik Gupta won gold medals, while Punya Gupta, Parineeti Damral, Nidhi Sharma and Sakshi Rajput clinched gold medals in girl’s category.
The silver medals were secured in boy’s category by Ali Raza, Purv Gupta, Shivyash Salotra, Achal Sharma, Tushar Lahotra, Harshit Singh and Anshu Gupta, besides Rashi Baldotra, Ridhima Sharma, Kritika Sharma and Sanjana Rajput were among in girls category.
Shivay Mahajan, Akshay Kumar, Vihaan Sharma, Arjun Singh, Ridit Kumar, Kaniya Sharma, Prince Sharma, Nitin Sharma, Ishan Singh, ShubVansh Singh and Avinash Kesar clinched bronze medals.
The chief guest said that it was a great opportunity for youth of district Rajouri to build a career in this particular game.
