JAMMU, Apr 7: Yasha clinched cadet girl’s title in the ongoing Police Open Table Tennis Championship, while Pranit to take on Aayan Gupta in cadet boy’s final, being organised by District Police in collaboration with J&K Sports Council and Table Tennis Association of J&K at Indoor Complex MA Stadium, here today.
Yash defeated Sneha by 3-1 and clinched the cadet girls (Under-13) title. Earlier in the semi-finals, she trounced Bhavin by 3-1 and Sneha beat Alina by3-1.
In cadet boy’s semi-finals, Pranit defeated Hrideshwar by 3-2 and Ayaan beat Kritin by 3-1, while Mahesh Sharma emerged as Veteran Men Champion by defeating Gourav by 3-1 and in cadet boy’s semi-finals, Pranit Mahajan trounced Hrideshwar by 3-2 and Ahaan defeated Kritin by 3-1.
In cadet girl’s semi-finals, Yasha beat Bhavin by 3-1, while Sneha defeated Alina by 3-1, whereas in cadet girls finals, Yasha beat Sneha by 3-1, besides in sub-junior girls semi-finals, Mishti beat Yasha by 3-1 and Niharika trounced Tuheena by 3-2.
In the veteran men’s semi-final, Gourav beat Dr Vaid by 3-1 and Mahesh defeated Ashwani by 3-1.
The matches were officiated by Gurvinder Singh Sasan (NIS Table Tennis coach), Vasu Dewan, Meenu Rajesh and Asad Sharma.
