Yasir, Shashi slam half-centuries in Simula Bulls’ big win

BIJBEHARA, July 10: Splendid half-centuries by explosive batsman Yasir Ali and stylish Shashi Kumar helped Simula Bulls to thrash Tramboo Panthers by a big margin of 60 runs in the ongoing Big-GK Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL) at Bijbehara, today.
Earlier, put into bat, Simula Bulls riding on thunderous knocks by Yasir and Shashi scored a decent total of 174 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Yasir scored 72 off 49 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes, while Shashi contributed valuable 54 runs off 33 balls. Both the batsmen played shots with sublime touch, fluid grace and utter brilliance. Skipper Dhruv Mahajan also contributed 19 runs to the total. For Tramboo Panthers, Syed Sagar, Saleem and Muntazin claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, Tramboo Panthers managed to score 114 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by a big margin of 60 runs. Saleem was the top scorer with 40 runs while Arshid Bhat contributed 28 runs to the total. For Simula Bulls, Hilal Rather, Sameer Khajuria, Shashi Kumar and Shamsher Singh Manhas scalped 2 wickets each. For his all-round show, Shashi Kumar was adjudged man of the match.
