Yatri from Rajasthan dies, toll 19 including CRPF jawan, driver

SRINAGAR : A 65-year-old yatri from Rajasthan died due to cardiac arrest during the pilgrimage to holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
A yatra official told UNI that the yatri identified as Giridhar Gopal, son of Ram Narayan Gopal, resident of Rajasthan, suffered a massive cardiac arrest at Zojibal.
However, he was immediately rushed to nearby medical camp where he was declared brought dead. The body has been brought to Nunwan Pahalgam base camp, he said. With this a total of 15 pilgrims from different parts of the country have died due to health reasons while one was killed in a road accident.
A CRPF jawan and two sevadars besides a local driver have also died since the commencement of the 48-day-long pilgrimage from July 2. (AGENCIES)
