JAMMU, Dec 30: Youth Cricket Club (YCC) Bhaderwah and Tanishta Cricket Club registered wins over their rivals to enter into the next round of ongoing 3rd Christmas Twenty-20 Cricket Cup for College students and J&K cricketers at Parade Cricket Ground, here today.
Mohan Lal SSP Traffic Jammu was the chief guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams on the occasion.
He was accompanied by the Rajesh Gill, organizing secretary of the tournament.
Earlier, in the first match, YCC Bhaderwah defeated Oriental Club by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Oriental Club scored 129 runs in stipulated 18 overs for loss of 8 wickets, with Vineet Raina (32) and Mintoo (24) being the main scorers. For YCC, Khalid took 3 wickets whereas Shahroz, Mudassar and Irshad shared 1 wicket each.
YCC Bhaderwah, in reply achieved the target in 13.5 overs for the loss of 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Abir Butt top scored with 54 runs, while Amir contributed 32 runs. Abir Butt was declared man of the match.
In another match, Tanishta Club registered a comfortable win over KC Sports Club.
Batting first, Tanishta Club scored a decent total of 150 runs in stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Ashu (42) and Sahil (40 ) were the main scorers. Sahil and Noushad bagged 3 wickets each, while Vivek took 2 wickets.
In reply, KC Sports bundled out for 130 runs in 19.1 overs, thus lost the match by 7 wickets. Abishek (31), Karan (19) and Romy (18) were the main scorers. For Tanishta Club, Rahul Mussa was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 wickets, while Sahil claimed 2 wickets. Bansi Lal and Vijay Dogra picked 1 wicket each. Sahil Sharma was adjudged man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Suhail Yusuf, Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod and Farooq.
