YCC, UWCC smash opponents, sail into next round

JAMMU, July 2: Youngster Cricket Club (YCC) and University Warrior Cricket Club (UWCC) smashed opponents in their respective matches and sailed into next round of the ongoing Ist Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Gold Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Cantt Ground, Satwari.
The first match of the day was played between Youngster Cricket Club (YCC) and Singh Cricket Club (SCC).
Batting first after winning the toss, YCC made 152 runs for all out in 19 overs. Jagan Deep Singh Janu was top scorer with 62 runs, whereas Manu made 29 runs.
From SCC side, Wasim and Sandeep took 3 wickets each.
In reply, SCC failed to chase the target and were  bundled out at 129 runs for all out. Rimpal made 40 runs, whereas Vikas scored 26 runs.
From YCC side, Jaggi and Parveen scalped 3 wickets each.
Jagan Deep Singh of YCC was declared as man of the match.
The second match of the day was played between University Warrior Cricket Club (UWCC) and PCC.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, PCC set a target of 118 runs for all out in 18 overs. Ashok was top scorer with 32 runs, whereas Sunny made 18 runs.
From UWCC side, Lovish took 3 wickets, whereas Sahil scalped 2 wickets.
In the second inning, UWCC chased the target and won the match by 6 runs. Pankaj scored 51 runs, whileas Sahil made 32 runs.
From PCC side, Vicky took 3 wickets and Somnath grabbed 1 wicket.
Pankaj of UWCC was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Akshay, JP, Aman Cheema, Raman Isher and Surpreet Singh.
The tournament is being organised by Youth National Conference Gandhi Nagar.
