JAMMU, May 26: Indoor Sports Tournament was organized by the Sports Club ‘Golden Gladiator’ of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) with great enthusiasm, here today.
The aim of the event was to develop competitive spirit and sportsmanship among the students.
Er Vidhi S Singh, Chairman, JGEI was the chief guest and Er. Renu Bangroo, Managing Director, JGEI, presided over the function.
The Tournament included Chess (individual event) and Carrom (team event).
In a keenly contested Chess competition, the first position was bagged by Priyank Ratta, 4th Semester, Mechanical Engineering Department, whereas the second position was bagged by Vishesh, 4th Semester, Computer Engineering Department.
The Carrom competition was won by TNL Club, Department of Electrical Engineering comprising teams of Funny Suri and Gagan Sharma, while Gear Club, Mechanical Engineering Department, comprising team of Ashutosh and Irfan Siddiqui remained the runners-up.
The events were organized by Sports Club under the supervision of Er Loveneesh Talwar and coordinated alongwith Er Ankush, Er Irshan, Er Amit, Er Suraj and Mr Rohit.
Dr Seema Narian, Director YCET presented vote of thanks.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Er Bodh Raj Verma, Dean Academics, R S Dalpatia, Dy Registrar, A K Kaul, TPO and senior faculty members Er Dinesh Gupta, Er Rajnish Magotra, Er Neeraj Pandita, Er Rhea Mahajan and Dr Preeti Verma.
