JAMMU, May 5: Young Lawyers Association, J&K High Court Jammu, has demanded action against the police officials who allegedly misbehaved with an advocate and assaulted him at Udhampur today.
In a meeting held through virtual mode, the YLA condemned the assault on Advocate Tarun Gupta, by some policemen posted at Chabutra Bazar, Udhampur.
During the meeting it was discussed that similar instances in recent lockdown have been seen wherein police officials were using their powers to harass the general public because of their high headedness and negligence, which is a very serious issue and steps should be taken to keep a check on such incidents.
The members who participated in the meeting, included Nitin Bakhshi (President YLA), Sarvesh Kotwal (Vice President YLA), Upasana Thakur (Gen Secretary), Suraj Singh Slathia (Joint secretary), Amzi Arthur John(Treasurer) and others.
