Talking to reporters after launching ‘One Gateway Techno Services’ here yesterday, Ganguly said senior players like VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble were retired and the present combination of the team is very good with the young players.

When asked whether the present team, which won three test matches of the four test series against Australia, will continue with the same force in future also, he said it is a young team and it will take time for them to settle.

Observing that teams like England and South Africa perform well both at home and abroad, Ganguly expressed hope India would also become strong enough in all conditions.

Asked how he would rate the teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL), which starts in April, he said T20 cricket is quite unpredictable as different teams have sprung up surprises in the past.

It is difficult to say who will take the T20 trophy home. Every year has thrown up a new champion, he added. (UNI)
