JAMMU, Apr 14: In a tragic incident, Jammu and Kashmir has lost a promising young cricketer, Bilal Mohi-u-Din (18), who died of sudden cardiac arrest. Hailing from Kupwara, Bilal was a talented fast bowler and a product of the JKCA Talent Hunt programme. He represented J&K in the prestigious All India Vijay Merchant Trophy 2022-23 as part of the U-16 team.
The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) expressed deep grief over the untimely demise of the budding cricketer. Prayer meetings were held at both Srinagar and Jammu offices of JKCA, where officials and players paid heartfelt tributes.
Brigadier Anil Gupta, Member-Administration JKCA, confirmed that Bilal died of cardiac arrest but not while playing cricket. “It’s unfortunate that we have lost a young and talented cricketer,” he said.
JKCA described Bilal as a bright future prospect, adding that his loss has left a deep void in the cricketing fraternity.
