Young Rovers drub Food Supplies; Bank Academy outplays Churchill Brothers

JAMMU, Jan 1: Young Rovers Football Club Jammu defeated formidable Food and Supplies XI by a solitary goal, while J&K Bank Academy drubbed Churchill Brothers in a close contest by one goal to nil (1-0) to advance in the ongoing 23rd State Football Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
Meanwhile, at Mini Stadium Parade ground, Shaheen Football Club Jammu trounced DFA Budgam by four goals to two (4-2) via tie-breaker. After both the teams scored a goal each in the stipulated time, the decision of the match was only possible in tie-breaker, wherein Shaheen Football Club Jammu scored 3 goals and DFA Budgam could manage only one goal, thus helping Shaheen Club Jammu to win the match by (4-2).
In another match at Parade ground, Sainik Colony Football Club got better of DFA Bandipora by a solitary goal, while in the third match at this venue, DFA Baramulla defeated DFA Ganderbal by four goals to nil (4-0).
In tomorrow’s fixture, DFA Srinagar will take on Vijay Club Jammu, Shaheen Club Jammu will face Mussa Club, J&K Bank Academy will lock horns with Lone Star Kashmir FC and Sainik Colony FC will meet DFA Baramulla.
