JAMMU, Mar 30: Young Star Hockey Club, Simble Camp will take on Nanak Nagar Club in the final of the Jammu District Senior Hockey Championship, being organized by Hockey J&K at KK Hakku Astro Turf Stadium on April 1.
Earlier, in the first semis, Young Star Hockey Club stunned Bagh-Bein Club by 6-3 goals and registered their name in the finals.
In the first half, Narinder Singh of Young Star Hockey Club netted the first goal in the 3rd minute and again bounced back and scored the goal in the 6th minute and put a lead of 2-0 goals over opponent Bagh Bein team.
In the 8th minute, Rajinder Singh of Young Star Hockey Club netted the goal and brought the opponent team players under extreme pressure.
However, in the very next minute, Taranpreet Singh of Bagh Bein Club netted the goal and brought some respite for the team mates. JS Reen of Bagh Bein team scored the goal in the 16th minute and brought the rising scorecard to 3-2 goals.
In the 27 minute, Varinder Singh of Young Star Hockey Club chipped in the goal and the first half ended with 4-2 goals.
In the second half, Rajinder netted the goal in the 31st minute and further raised the scoreboard to 5-2 goals, which the opponent team were finding tough to equalise.
In 53rd minute, Gagandeep Singh of Young Star Hockey Club scored the sixth goal for his team side and the scoreboard reached 6-2 goals.
In 57th minute, Manpreet Singh tried to raise the enthusiasm of the players by netting the goal. But their dream to win the match shattered, when the referee signaled the match over.
Young Star Hockey Club registered 6-2 goals victory over Bagh Bein and registered their birth in the finals of the tournament.
In the second semis, Nanak Nagar Club registered 3-1 goals victory over Zorawar Club and will now clash with Young Star Hockey Club in the finals.
In the first half, Abhinandan of Zorawar Club netted the first goal of the match in the 8th minute, which Janak Singh of Nanak Nagar Club equalized in the 11th minute.
In the 22nd minute, Janak Singh of Nanak Nagar Club scored the goal, which the opponent team players failed to equalize and the first half ended with 2-1 goals.
In the second half, Zorawar Club started playing mind games, but their strategies failed, when Joginder Singh of Nanak Nagar Club netted the goal in the 53rd minute and raised the scorecard to 3-1 goals.
After 53rd minute, players of Zorawar Club strived hard to clinch the match, but were looking completely dominated and thus lost the match by 3-1 goals.
In the first semis, VK Kohli, CEO, Hockey J&K was the guest of honour, while in the second semifinal, Romal Singh, General Secretary, Hockey J&K was the guest of honour.
