Young Star outplays MIER by 13 runs

JAMMU, Nov 26: Young Star trounced MIER in a close contest by 13 runs in the ongoing Under-16 School Cricket tournament, being jointly organized by the Country Cricket Club and the Project Model Higher Secondary School, Janipur, here.
Batting first after winning the toss, Young Star CC scored a challenging total of 158 runs. The main contributors were Aditya Sharma (21), Daman Preet (19), Ritvik and Ajay (17 each).  Himal Gupta and Manav contributed 15 runs each, while Ishan Bali and Nikhil Mehra contributed 10 runs each.
From MIER, Shehzad took 3 wickets, while Poonia Raina took 2 wickets. Kartik, Sujal, Sagar and Snoop claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply MIER managed to 140 runs to lose the match by 13 runs. Snoop top scored with 36 runs, while Kartik contributed 27 runs. Aryan, Shehzad and Nikhil contributed 25, 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively.
The match was officiated by Kashish Abrol, Garu Ram and the Organizing Secretary, Sanjay Kumar.
A good number of spectators and local cricket enthusiast witnessed the match and expressed satisfaction over the organization of the tournament and the conditions provided at the venue.
