Young Star, Young Khalsa outplay rivals; advance to next round

JAMMU, Nov 28: Young Star Simbal Camp and Young Khalsa outplayed rivals and sailed into the next stage of the ongoing 4th Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament, being organized by Kashmir Sikh Sangat under the aegis of Hockey J&K at KK Hakku stadium, here today.
In the first match, Star Simbal Camp defeated Aman Khalsa Lachipora by 5-1.
From Young Star Simbal Camp, Ishtiaq Hussain netted two goals, while Devinder Singh, Ramandeep Singh and Jaspreet Singh scored one goal each, whereas for Aman Khalsa Lachipora, Harish Vaid was the lone goal scorer.
In the second match, Young Khalsa Gole Gujaral defeated MRS Club Simbal Camp by 3-1.
From Young Khalsa, Sahil Singh, Karandeep Singh and Rajdeep Singh netted the goals, whereas from MRS Simbal Camp, the goal was scored by Ashish Mehra.
In the first match, the chief guest was Harbhajan Singh Retd SE and guest of honour was KN Singh Retd Xen, whereas in the second match, Tajwant Singh Reen, Industrialist was the chief guest and Surjeet Singh Veteran Hockey Player was guest of honour. All the members of Kashmir Sikh Sangat were also present on the occasion.
The tournament is being organized under the supervision of TP Singh, Organizing Secretary, whereas GS Bakshi General Secretary Hockey J&K is the Co-ordinator of the tournament.
The officials for today’s matches were Karanjit Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Balmeet Singh, Hardeep Singh, Ranjeet Singh and Joginder Singh.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Khalsa Club Gole Gujral will clash with Hiranagar Club and Deshmash Club Nanak Nagar will lock horns with Ajit Club Gole Gujaral.
