JAMMU, May 31: Young Strikers defeated State Alexandra Football Club by two goals to nil, while Young Churchill held Jammu Jean to (1-1) draw in the ongoing 1st Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Memorial Gold Cup Football League Tournament 2018, being organized by District Football Association (DFA) Jammu, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
In the first match of the day, Sumit of Young Striker was the star performer who pelted both the goals for the winners to beat State Alexandra in an easy contest.
In another match, Jammu Jean and Young Churchill Football Club ended in a draw as both the teams scored a goal each in the stipulated time. Moses was the goal scorer for Young Churchill, while Arun Singh scored the goal for Jammu Jean.
The matches were officiated by Rahul Ghai, Honey, Sanju and Rocky Sharma.
The Tournament is being held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Mehmood, President DFA Jammu, while the organizing committee members include Yousuf Don (Organizing Secretary), Charan Dass, Bharat Bhushan, Mohan Lla, Featus Sotra, David, Moon Stephen and Eliza Sotra.
