JAMMU, Dec 27: In a major achievement in anti-narcotics front, Poonch police arrested a woman and two other persons along with a consignment of narcotics in the Poonch town today.
A senior police official said that during routine naka checking, a police party from Police Station Poonch, headed by SHO Sarweshwar Singh, under the supervision of DySP HQ Nawaz Ahmed, under the overall supervision of SSP Poonch, Rohit Baskotra intercepted and detained three persons including a woman with a consignment of 40 grams of heroin.
Police arrested trio from the spot and registered a case FIR No. 315/21 under section 8/21/22/27a/29 NDPS Act.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rahul Sharma alias Kapil and Nikhil Sharma, both sons of Shashi Paul, residents of ward 12 (Power House Mohalla) Poonch and Zoya Akther, wife of Imtiaz Ahmed, a resident of Loran, at present Mohalla Sarai, Poonch.
Police said that the arrested woman is suspected to be kingpin of the racket supplying narcotics to local youth and her arrest is big achievement for police in unearthing this racket.
