Youngster Cricket Club lifts Jammu District Tennis Ball Cricket C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 3: Outplaying Star Cricket Club by 2 wickets in the summit clash, Youngster Cricket Club lifted the title trophy of the ongoing Jammu District Tennis Ball Cricket Championship at Green Field ground, Gandhi Nagar, here.
The Championship was organised by Jammu District Tennis Ball Cricket Association in collaboration with J&K State Sports Council.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that sports serves for delight, for ornament and for agility.
He advised the players to participate more and more in sports and allied activities to not to derail from the mainstream.
Meanwhile, in the final match Youngster Cricket Club defeated Star Cricket Club by 2 wickets.
Star Cricket Club scored 49 runs in 7.5 overs. Manan was the top scorer with 14 runs.
In reply, Youngster Cricket Club scored 51 runs in 7.4 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Vinayak was top scorer with 16 runs. For Star Cricket Club, Sohail Malik took 2 wickets by conceding 8 runs in his quota of 2 overs.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Youngster Cricket Club defeated Youth Services and Sports Club by 8 wickets, while in another semifinal, Star Cricket Club got better of NMCC in a close contest by a narrow margin of 3 runs.
The matches were officiated by a panel of experts from J&K Tennis Ball Association and Department of Youth Services and Sports.
