KISHTWAR, Aug 7: Devi Gol-Bunjwah Cricket Tournament concluded at Devi Gol, here today.
The Tournament was organized by Zakir Hussain Keen alongwith other organizing committee members.
The final match of the Tournament was played between Challenger Misla XI and Youngsters Nali XI, wherein Youngsters Nali XI lifted the trophy by defeating the rivals by 6 wickets.
Earlier, Challenger Misla XI won the toss and elected to bat first to make 125 runs in the allotted 15 overs.
In reply, Youngsters Nali XI chased the target in the last over by losing 4 wickets and won the match by a 6 wickets. Akhtar Hussain was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
Vicky Kumar bagged man of the series award, while Joginder Kumar and Riyaz Ahmed Zargar won best bowler and best fielder awards respectively.
The match was officiated by Shahid Khan and Imran Khan.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Farooq Ahmed Akhoon and Mohd Iqbal Keen.
Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, who was chief guest on the occasion distributed prizes among the players of winners and runners-up teams.
He complimented all the participating teams in the tournament, saying the game of cricket imbibes spirit of camaraderie among the youngsters.
“Cricket is being called as gentleman’s game”, he said adding that young lads playing cricket in streets have made big at the national and international level.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Khalid Hussain Sheikh, Farooq Ahmed Want and Abid Hussain, besides Sarpanches, Panches and cricket lovers.
