JAMMU, Feb 21: The young brigade of Shubam Khajuria, Paras Sharma, Ishtiaq Rasool and Pranav Gupta etc, alongwith the performers of the current season in Ranji Trophy matches and the 50-over and T20 selection trial matches, got the nod of the senior selectors of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) to represent the State in Vijay Hazare (50-over) and Mushtaq Ali (T20) Tournaments, under the captaincy of talented all-rounder Parvez Rasool.
After holding week-long selection trial matches, the JKCA senior selectors today met under the chairmanship of Abdul Rauf and picked the State teams for the said tournaments. The other selectors included Shiban Lal Trakroo, Iqbal Shah, Shahid Parvez and Tilak Singh.
The teams:
Vijay Hazare Trophy: Parvez Rasool (Captain), Ian Dev Singh (Vice Captain) , Ramdayal, Samiullah Beigh, Mohd Mudasir, Adil Reshi, Bandeep Singh, Zahoor Sofi, Hardeep Singh, Manish Dogra (WK), Waseem Raza, Raman Dutta, Aditya Pratap Singh, Sajad Sofi, Shubam Khajuria and Imran Haroon.
Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Parvez Rasool (Captain), Ian Dev Singh (Vice Captain) , Ramdayal Punia, Samiullah Beigh, Abid Nabi, Adil Reshi (WK), Vimarsh Kaw, Paras Sharma, Mehjoor Ali, Vijay Dogra, Pranav Gupta, Waseem Raza, Shubam Khajuria, Hardeep Singh, Ishtiaq Rasool and Arshad Khawaja.
In Vijay Hazare Trophy, J&K will take on formidable Delhi on February 27, 2014 at Feroz Shah Kotla ground and will play against Services on March 1, 2014 at the Palam grounds, followed by the matches against Punjab, Himachal and Haryana on March, 3, 5 and 6, 2014 respectively.
