JAMMU, Oct 14: Younis Kuchey, Jaideep Manocha, Ishan Chowdhary and Akshay smashed rivals in their respective league matches and entered into the pre-quarters of the ongoing 1st J&K State Six Red Ball Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA), at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier in the first league match on the Day-8 of the tournament, Jaideep Manocha beat Satyjet by 4-2. Satyjet made the good start by winning the opening frame by 36-07, while the match was equalized by Jaideep by registering win in the second frame by 38-07. In the third frame, Satyjet registered win by 49-10 and the game was again equalized by Jaideep after winning the fourth frame by 33-09. Jaideep proved his mettle and won the next two frames by 59-33 and 51-38 and registered berth in pre-quarters of the Championship.
In the second match, Younis Kuchey registered win over Maquder Sawhney by straight 4-0 frames with the score of 33-08, 32-01, 36-22 and 48-25, whereas in the third game, Mudassir Ashiq smashed Rohit Sharma by 4-1. Mudassir won the first frame by 41-02 and the game was equalized by Rohit by winning the second frame by 52-30. Mudassir exhibited marvelous talent and won the next three frames by 45-11, 39-21 and 60-08.
Akshay Kumar outplayed Standin by straight 4-0 frames with the score of 45-13, 34-29, 42-03 and 46-08 in the fourth match, whereas Abhi Gupta registered win over Ankit Gupta by 4-2 in the fifth match.
In the sixth game, Umar Himanyu smashed Vipin Malhi by 4-3, whereas in the seventh game, Ishan Chowdhary registered win over Aseem Ghai by straight 4-0 frames.
In the eighth match, Rizwan Ahmed crushed Abhishek Goswami by 4-3 and entered into the pre-quarters of the Championship.
The matches were being held under strict supervision of the JKBSA members and played with the rules and regulations of Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI).
The matches were officiated by Rakesh Sharma, Pawan Khajuria and Ashok.
According to General Secretary, JKBSA, Vishal Abrol, winner and runner-ups of State Championship will represent J&K in 6 Red Snooker National Championship to be held at PJ Hindu Gymkhana, Mumbai from December 14 to 23.
