Younis outplays Mudassar by 5-3 to lift Six Red Ball C’ship title

JAMMU, Oct 18: Younis Kuchey outplayed Mudassar Ashiq by 5-3 to lift the title of 1st J&K State Six Red Ball Championship, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association (JKBSA), at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
In the opening frame, Mudassar registered win by 4-20 and continued the winning pace and clinched the second frame by 34-22.
Enthusiastic Younis won the third frame by 41-10 and equalized the game by winning the fourth frame by 32-22.
Mudassar raised the lead over Younis by winning the fifth frame by 41-01, but Younis proved by  mettle and again balanced the game by winning the sixth frame by 52-04.
Promising cueist Younis registered win in the seventh and eighth frames by 28-12 and 43-19 and lifted the title trophy of the Championship.
Meanwhile, Vasu Gupta will take on Ansh Chopra in the final of Sub-Junior Snooker Championship at the same venue.
In the first semis, Vasu Gupta beat Furkan Wani by 3-1. In the first frame, Furkan registered win by 51-33 and the game was equalized by Vasu by winning the second frame by 55-27. In third and fourth frames, Furkan missed several shots and Vasu registered win by 66-39 and 57-31 respectively to enter the final of the Championship.
In the second semifinal, Ansh Chopra registered win over Aman Choudhary by 3-1. Ansh won the first set by 49-14 and Aman balanced the game by winning the second frame by 39-36. Enthusiastic Ansh thrashed Aman in third and fourth frames by 67-27 and 77-34 respectively and set his summit clash with Vasu Gupta.
The matches were being held under strict supervision of the JKBSA members and played with the rules and regulations of Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI).
The matches were officiated by Rakesh Sharma, Pawan Khajuria and Ashok.
