BANIHAL, Nov 30: A 22-year-old youth got electrocuted while playing cricket here on Thursday evening, officials said.
Abrar Afzal Sohil son of Mohammad Afzal Sohil received an electric shock while playing cricket in a local playground at Hergam area of Chamalwas Village in Banihal Tehsil, they said.
He was taken to the Sub-District Hospital Banihal by locals, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival, said the officials.
While the body of the deceased has been handed over to his family members after conducting the medico-legal formalities inquest proceedings have been initiated to ascertain the facts that led to the loss of life of the young man.
