JAMMU, Feb 23: A youth today stabbed a girl to death and later hanged himself at his residence in Bishnah area of city outskirts.
“A youth namely Rakesh Kumar (21) son of Janak Raj this morning stabbed a girl identified as Shalu Devi (26) at his residence in village Jindar in Bishnah tehsil,” a police official said.
He said that why and how the girl reached to his house is being ascertained. He added that the girl’s body with stab wounds was found in his room while the boy was also found hanging.
“We are verifying the reason behind the extreme step”, the official said, adding that a case has been registered in this connection at police station Bishnah and investigations started while the bodies of the deceased boy and girl were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites after getting conducted postmortem at SDH Bishnah.
