YSCC Nagrota drubs SCC Mishriwala by 12 runs

JAMMU, Mar 7: Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Nagrota defeated Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Mishriwala by a narrow margin of 12 runs in the ongoing Salute & Tribute to Sunjuwan Martyrs Jammu District Rural Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu District Cricket Alliance, an affiliate Unit of Parade Sports Association (PSA) at Parade ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, YSCC Nagrota scored a modest total of 123 runs in 22.5 overs, losing all their wickets in the process. Naresh Kundal, Deep Singh and Madan Bhagat contributed 16 runs each, while Vishal Singh chipped in with 15 runs. For Singh Cricket Club Mishriwala, Rohit was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets by conceding 15 runs in his 5 overs, while Ankush Sahrma and Lovely took 2 wickets each. Ajay Sharma and Abbu claimed one wicket each.
In reply, SCC Mishriwala collapsed at 111 runs, thus lost the match by 12 runs. Abbu top scored with 33 runs, while Vicky Sharma and Ankush Sharma contributed 29 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Surinder Kachroo was the wrecker-in-chief for YSCC, who took 3 important wickets, while Rajinder Singh and Naresh Kotwal took 2 wickets each. Madan Bhagat also claimed one wicket.
The match was officiated by Harsh Nayyar and Kapil Dev Mahajan as the umpires, while the Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Vijay Sabarwal, President Parade Sports Association and Chairman of the Organising Committee.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor will take on Bhatia Cricket Club Bishnah in the first semifinal.
