YSCC, Simula XI sail into semis

JAMMU, Dec 5: Young Star Cricket Club and Simula XI thrashed their respective opponents and sailed into the semifinal of the ongoing J&K Police Friendship Cup being organised jointly by J&K Police, Young Star Cricket Club and Simula Software at MA Stadium here.
In the first match of the day, Young Star Cricket Club registered 7 wickets victory over JKP XI.
Batting first, JKP XI scored 121 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Naresh and Jatin were the top scorers with 25 runs each, while, Rajesh Gill and Gurdeep also chipped in 21 runs each.
For YSCC side, Sahil Bhalwal was the pick of the bowler with 2 wickets.
In reply, YSCC chased the target in just 18.4 oves for the loss of just 3 wickets during the process. Bobby chipped in 37 runs, while, Manjeet, Bansi Lal and Parveen made 25, 21 and 20 runs respectively.
For JKP XI side, Rajesh Gill and Gurdeep took one wicket apiece.
Bobby of Young Star Club was declared as man of the match for his all round performance.
In another match, splendid 50 runs (half century) contribution by Dhruv Mahajan guided his team Simula XI to register 9 wickets win over Patel XI.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Patel XI made 104 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Madan Singh made 26 runs, while Vijay Chowdhary and Dheeraj also contributed 17 and 13 runs respectively.
For Simula XI side, Amit was the wrecker-in-chief who scalped 3 wickets, while Vivek Thapa also took 2 wickets.
In reply, Simula XI chased the target in just 13.2 overs for the loss of just one wicket. Dhruv Mahajan played well, chipped in some crispy shots in his 50 runs contribution including five boundaries and two huge sixes, while Shashi also made 41 runs with the help of five balls towards the fence and one lofty six.
For Patel XI side, Varinder scalped one wicket.
Dhruv Mahajan of Simula XI was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sohail Yousaf and Sandeep as umpires, while Sanjay Bhatti maintained the scorecard.
