YSS, DLSA hold sports tournament for jail inmates

BHADARWAH, Nov 7: As part of ongoing jail reform initiatives, a sports tournament was organized for inmates at District Jail Bhadarwah by the Ministry of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). The event was held under the supervision of Jail Superintendent Hamid-ullah Naik.
Chairman DLSA, Balbir Lal Jaswal, attended as the chief guest, while Tabrez Qazi, Secretary DLSA Bhadarwah, was the guest of honor at the prize distribution ceremony. Physical Education Instructors Aftab Zargar and Murtaza Qadir provided coaching to inmates in various sports, including Cricket, Volleyball, chess, Ludo, Tug-of-War, and Kabaddi.
Around 170 inmates participated in the week-long tournament. The chief guest emphasized the importance of sports for physical and mental well-being, as well as character building and leadership development.
