YSS holds UT Level Cricket tourney at Kathua

KATHUA, Oct 16: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K inaugurated the Inter-Division UT Level Cricket Tournament for Under-17 Boys today at the scenic Kathua sports ground. The tournament aims to showcase the region’s emerging cricket talent.
The inaugural ceremony featured the Chief Education Officer of Kathua as the chief guest and the Principal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kathua as the guest of honour. DYSSO Kathua, Sunil Singh Sambyal, and various officials also attended.
Emphasizing the importance of sports in youth development, the chief guest stated, “Sports foster teamwork and discipline, playing a crucial role in character building.” He encouraged participants to embody the spirit of sportsmanship, noting that both winning and losing are valuable experiences.
Following the addresses, the excitement shifted to the field, with the opening match kicking off the tournament.
