Jammu, Dec 22: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K organized the Inter District Provincial Level selection camp for National Youth Festival 2024 (NYF-2024) at Abhinav Theatre here today.
National Youth Festival is celebrated on the birth anniversary of youth icon Swami Vivekananda on January 12 every year. This year the National Youth Festival will be held at Nasik in Maharashtra.
Over 200 youth drawn from 10 districts of Jammu division took part in the event and performed different cultural items. The colorful attires, the players artists presented stellar performances to cast spell on the entire audience.
A panel of experts including the adjudicators and the officials of Nehru Yuva Kendra and the officials of J&K Art, Culture and Languages were deputed for smooth and successful conduct of the event.
Director Youth Services and Sports J&K Subash Chander Chhibber, officially declared the festival open. He was accompanied by Bharat Singh Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture & Languages and Dr Jagdish Mehra CEO Khadi & Village Industries Board J&K. “We are incredibly excited to host this inter-district/provincial level youth festival, offering a platform for the talented young artists of Kashmir to showcase their skills,” said Director YSS. “We believe that such events play a crucial role in nurturing and encouraging the artistic talents that exist within our community,” he added.
The three day long preparatory cum selection camp was organized with the support and tireless efforts of Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu Suram Chand Sharma, Deputy Director Central Jatinder Mishra, Deputy Director Planning Ravi Kumar Sharma, Chief Accounts Officer Sunil Sharma and the other supporting staff.
