Yuvraj bags gold in Kathua District Judo C’ship

KATHUA, Mar 25: Yuvraj bagged gold, while Pankaj and Mayank claimed silver and bronze medals respectively in 20 kg category of District Kathua Judo Championship, which was inaugurated by Shamsher Singh, Manager District Coaching Centre Kathua earlier.
in +25 kg, Sumit bagged gold and Kamal claimed silver, while in 30 kg,  Samanwai, Kamal Kumar and Samnar Dogra won gold, silver and bronze respectively and in 35 kg,  Aditya, Govind Sharma and Danveer Swali clinched gold, silver and bronze medal respectively.
In 40 kg category, Irfan Khan, Krishan Dev and Abhishek won gold, silver and bronze medals, while in 45 kg, the gold, silver and bronze medals went to Alankrit Patyal, Manoj Singh, Divya Akaash and Shaurya Jasrotia.
In 50 kg, Vipul Verma and Sidhart won gold and silver respectively, while Akshit and Nishat shared bronze medal, while in +50 kg, Paru Dev won gold, Abhishek bagged silver, while the bronze was claimed by Shubam and Pawan Kumar.
Bouts in junior boys under-17 and under-10 girls were also held on the occasion.
Around 100 judokas drawn from all over the District took part in the Championship.
Earlier, welcome address was presented by Ravi Gupta and the vote of thanks was presented by Khajur Singh, while the bouts were officiated by Jugal Kishore and Shakti Gupta.
