LEH, Jan 16: The Union Territory of Ladakh is going to organise 1st Zanskar Winter Sports Festival-2021from January 18 to 30 at Zanskar valley.
The Zanskar Festival is being organised under the banner of Khelo India of Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Services in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports, Department of Tourism with active participation of various public and private organisations of Zanskar along with Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
The event consists of various sports activities such as Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, Yak and Horse riding, Meditation & Yoga on Snow, Traditional Archery, Snow Climbing, Snow Sculptures by local artists and the famed Chaddar Trek.
The Chadar Trek will be organised from January 18 to 20, whereas Meditation and Yoga, Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, Snow Skiing will be held on January 21, 22, 23 and 24 respectively and Snow Scooter and Biking and Yak and Horse riding, Republic Day celebration, Traditional Archery, Local Food festival, Snow Sculpture and Ice Climbing will be organised on January 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 respectively.
