Zinc futures remain weak on low demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 2: Zinc prices eased further by 0.11 per cent to Rs 175.05 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions, tracking a weak trend at the spot market on muted demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in September shed 20 paise, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 175.05 per kg in a business turnover of 24 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in August contracts was trading lower by 15 paise, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 175.20 per kg in 1,920 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market kept zinc prices down in futures trade. (PTI)
