POONCH, May 7: Zonal Level Inter-School Competition of Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Kabbadi Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls of Surankote Zone, under the banner of the Department of Youth Services and Sports
commenced at Government Higher Secondary School, Surankote, here today.
A total of 433 students drawn from various schools of the zone participated in the event. The Competition was declared open by Ghulam Ahmed Qudhari, Principal HSS Surankote in a simple but well attended function.
In volleyball Under-14 boys, Army Goodwill School Potha beat GHS Sanai by 2-0 sets, while in Volleyball Under-17 boys, H/S Sanai defeated HS Kalai by 3-1 sets.
In another match, Army Goodwill drubbed HSS Surankote by 2-0 sets.
In Kho-Kho Under-14 and Under-17, Army Goodwill School trounced MS Lassana by 4 points, GHS Seri Khawaja got better of HS Sanai by 10 points and BHS Sanai prevailed over HS Seri Khwaja by 1 point.
In Kabaddi Under-14 boys, GHS Sanai defeated HS Kalai by 19 points, while in Under-17 boys, HSS Surankote outplayed HS Sanai by 1 point.
The matches were officiated by Majid Dar, Rajinder Singh, Vipon Kumar, Daljeet Singh, Avtar Singh, Bachtier Singh, Mazafar Khawaja, Pawan Kour, Romesh Kumar, Rajiv Kumar, Gurdeep Kour, Jasbir Kour, Anju Devi and Fozia Akhter.
The Competition is being organized under the overall supervision of Jasbir Kour ZPEO Surankote.
