JAMMU, May 6: Players of under-14 and under-17 age groups sweated-it-out in the ongoing Zonal Level Inter-School Tournaments, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at various zones across Jammu division, today.
The Zonal Level Inter-School Tournament of Zone Tikri got underway at Govt Hr Secondary School, Tikri in an impressive opening ceremony today.
In all, 200 girls drawn from 13 institutions of the Zone are competing in Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball.
In Kho-Kho U-14 Girls, GMS Manthal emerged winner, while GMS Barolla remained runners-up and in Kabaddi U-14 Girls, GMS Mora Gujjaran was declared winner, while Dugra Model Academy Tikri claimed runners-up title.
In Kabaddi U-17 Girls, GHS Chiryai emerged winner and GHSS Tikri remained runners-up, while in Volleyball U-17 Girls, Sainik Co-Operative Tikri bagged the title and GHS Chiryai claimed second spot.
The tournament is being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Zone Tikri, under the supervision of Ashok Kumar ZPEO Tikri and under the overall supervision of Sudesh Kumar, DYSSO Udhampur.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were SM Tharmatt and Sudeshwer Sharma, while the matches were officiated by Kuldeep Sharma , Neelam Devi, Shukla Devi, Som Dev, Raj Kumar, Kulbushan Sharma, Kafeel Ahmed, Ajay Kumar, Jagdish Kumar, Pushpinder Singh, Raman Gupta, Dharminder Singh, Meenu, Shashi Kumar,Gita Devi and Anita Kumari.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports District Samba organized Inter School Zonal Level Tournament U-14 Boys under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba, Subash Chander Bhardwaj and overall supervision of ZEPO Samba, Rakesh Verma.
In Kho-Kho U-14 Boys, the final was played between N V Dhalote and CMP Nud, wherein CMP Nud was declared winner by 6 points, while in Kabaddi U-14 Boys, the final match was played between MIER Sumb and GHS Penthi and MIER Sumb emerged winner by 4 points.
In Volleyball U-14 Boys, the final match was played between N V Dhalote and GHS Sarna and the GHS Sarna was declared winner by (2-1) sets.
The officials present on occasion were Anirudh Singh, Sandeep Singh, Kulbir Singh, Gopal Sharma, Raj Kumari, Zorawar Singh Sambyal, Shashi Sambyal, Sudesh Kumari, Asha Rani, and others.
The District Level Inter School Competitions in the disciplines of Mastogi-Do and Basketball Girls U-14 and U-17 concluded today here at MA Stadium Jammu.
The competitions were organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports,under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Jt. Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu and under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu.
In Mastogi-Do under-17 Girls, Jodhamal Public School beat Jammu Sanskrit School by 7 points (27-20), while in Mastogi-Do Girls U-14 final, Jammu Sanskrit School beat Army Pubic School Kaluchak by 9 points (26-17) and in final match of Basketball U- 17, Heritage School beat MHAC Nagbani by (7-2)
The matches were officiated by Vishal Bharti, Rajesh Bandral Mousmi Verma, Vaneet and Satika Sharma.
An Inter school tournament for Bani zone commenced here at Government High School Bani.
The tournament was declared open by the Principal HSS Bani, Mohammad Hafiz Sheikh in the presence of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Sunil Kumar. The tournament will culminate tomorrow.
On the 1st day of the tournament as many as 328 players from 20 government and 4 private institutions participated in Kabaddi, Kho-KHo & Volley ball competitions.
Physical Education Teacher (PET) Des Raj, PEM Romesh Singh, PEM Rajesh Kumar, PET Rakesh Kumar and PEL Jai Paul Singh officiated the tournaments.
Two days Inter-School Competition cum trilas for boys Under-14 and Under 17 in Cricket began at Mini Stadium, Udhampur today, under the supervision of Santosh Kumari, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Udhampur.
