DODA, May 29: Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, Dil Mir Choudhary today inaugurated the Inter School, Zonal level tournament for Girls and Boys Under 14/17 age group in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Volleyball, Badminton, Wrestling, Tug of War, Chess, Carrom, Football and Athletics, in an impressive function held at Government Girls HSS Bhaderwah.
Both, Government as well as private schools are participating in the tournament, which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports as a part of annual calendar of sports activities 2023-24 under the patronage of Subash Chander Chiber (Director, Youth Services and Sports) and under the overall supervision of Jaffer Haider Sheikh (District Youth Services and Sports Officer Doda) and Incharge ZPEO Vijay Kumar Bhaderwah.
The inaugural Badminton match was played between HS Radiant Academy and MS Chaka. Radiant Academy defeated MS Chakka by 5 points. Zanib Malik from Radiant Academy beat Sony Bhagat from UPS Lanchan.
In Chess, Holy Hock defeated UPS Manthala and GMS Mandir defeated BVM Gatha while in Carrom, GMS Upper Dandi defeated UPS Lanchan.
