Rising Stars lifts title trophy of Volleyball in Bani

KATHUA, Aug 8: Rising Stars Lowhang-B emerged winner of the Volleyball tournament by defeating Lowhang-A team and lifted the title trophy, organised by Youth Organization Lowhang wherein 17 teams participated, here today.
SDM Bani, Joginder Jasrotia was the chief guest of the closing ceremony, while Dr Rameshwar Singh, Mohd Ayub Sheikh, Kajol Singh Congress Youth leader, Yasir Chowdhury youth leader of Apni Party were the special guests.
In the finals, Rising Stars Lowhang-B defeated Lowhang-A team by 3-2 sets. Ashwani Kumar was declared as player of the match.
SDM Bani Joginder Jasrotia, while appreciating the Volleyball sports talent of budding players they exhibited in the tournament, he encouraged them to accord focused attention on their game and work hard towards bringing laurels for J&K.
Dr Rameshwar Singh awarded Ashwani Kumar and Aarish Bhat with Rs 1000 each and also advised youth to take part in sports and stay away from drugs.
Meanwhile, Zone Doda trounced Zone Bhallesa by 3-1 sets in the final of under-19 Inter-District Zonal Level (IDZL) tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Doda at Sports Stadium Doda.
DYSSO Doda, Jaffar Haider Sheikh was the chief guest of the closing ceremony, whereas Ashok Kumar PEL, Raj Bhushan PEL, Kishori Lal Thakur ZPEO Doda and Ved Parkash ZPEO Assar were present during the event.
The first semi-final match was played between Zone Bhallesa and Zone Thathri which was won by Zone Bhallesa by 2-0 sets, while the 2nd semi- final was won by Zone Doda by defeating Zone Bhatyas by 2-0 sets. The matches were officiated by Vijay Manhas PEM, Abdul Haq PEM, Anayatullah Gattu PET, Ravinder Singh REK, Rohit Bandral REK, Archana REK, Bandana REK, Muzamil Rashid REK, Koshal Kumar REK, Vijay Kumar REK and Khalid Hussain NYC.
