JAMMU, Oct 5: The Inter-Zonal District Level Basketball Competition for U-19 Girls concluded at MA Stadium, here today, with Zone Gandhi Nagar emerging victorious. Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), the event saw participation from around 100 athletes representing various Government and private schools of district Jammu.
The event was supervised by DYSSO Jammu, Sunil Kumar Sharma, and I/C DYSSO, Harvinder Kour, who praised the participants for their team spirit and dedication. In the final, Zone Gandhi Nagar defeated Zone Miran Sahib with a score of 20-5. Earlier, Gandhi Nagar had won the semi-final against Zone Bhalwal (19-14), while Miran Sahib defeated Zone Satwari (2-0) in the first semi-final. Medals and certificates were distributed to the winners and runners-up by Harvinder Kour, along with appreciation for their efforts.
The event was officiated by experts from the department, including Vaneet Pangotra, Rajesh Bandral, Amit Kalsi and Ranveer Singh.
