JAMMU, Feb 11: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in the District Jammu Senior Hockey Tournament, organized by Hockey J&K, Zorawar Hockey Club and Young Star Hockey Club Simbal Camp advanced into the next round at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here.
The Tournament is being sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
Earlier, in the first match, Zorawar Club defeated Sittu Club Simbal Camp by four goals to nil (4-0) in an easy contest. Anoop Singh scored the first goal in 7th minute, while Harsh Vaid netted the second goal in 15th minute. The third and the fourth goals were scored by Shivay Vaid in 28th minute and Mukesh Pandey in 40th minute.
In another match played today, Young Star Hockey Club got better of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Hockey Club by three goals to one (3-1). From Young Star, The goals were scored by Prabjot Singh, Inderjeet Singh and Prabjot Singh in 10th, 15th and 40th minutes respectively, while Manvinder Singh pelted the goal for Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club in 29th minute of the match.
The Tournament was inaugurated by Romal Singh, general secretary Hockey J&K in the presence of Rajinder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Tajinder Singh, Sukhjinder Singh and Satbir Singh.
The matches were officiated by Iqbal Singh, Joginder Singh, Karanjit Singh, Amarjit Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Ravinder Singh, HS Reen and GS Bakshi.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Singh Club Bandhu Rakh will take on Veteran XI and Hiranagar Hockey Club will face Maharaja Ranjit Singh Club.
