JAMMU, Apr 16: Zubair Ahmad, Tariq Mehmood and Rameez Ahmad secured first, second and third positions respectively in the long jump event, organised during the Inter-Battalion Tournament by Jammu Kashmir police at Gulshan ground, here today.
In 10,000 meters (Men), Shallu Ram, Naresh Kumar and Dilawar Singh registered wins, whereas, in 800 meters, Danish Yousuf, Vikram Singh and Pardeep Kumar secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In Hammer Throw, Tariq Ahmad, Latief Ahmad and Sandeep Kumar secured first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Triple Jump, Tariq Mehmood, Maninder Singh and Raj Kiran emerged winners.
In Boxing, Fly Weight category, Neeraj claimed gold medal, while silver medal was bagged by Khem Raj. In Boutam Weight category, Gold medal was claimed by Jigmeet Gyatso and the silver medal was bagged by Mukesh Kumar. In Light Weight category, gold medal was conferred to Kulveer Singh, whereas silver medal was clinched by Rakesh Kumar. In Light Walter Weight category, Javid Iqbal claimed gold medal, while, Abdul Qayoom secured silver medal. In Walter Weight category, Mohd Ali and Jagjeet Kumar bagged gold and silver medals respectively. In Middle Weight category, Shakeel Ahmad claimed gold medal, while Shakeel Ahmad secured silver medal. In light Heavy Weight category, Hemant Sharma bagged gold medal, while Sunny Bakaya secured silver medal. In Heavy Weight category, Davinder Gupta and Mohd Irshad claimed gold and silver medals respectively. In Super Heavy Weight category, Balwan Singh claimed gold medal, while Romit Kumar secured silver medal.
In Football, the first match was played between IRP-1st Battalion and IRP-4th Battalion, in which latter emerged winner by 6-5 goals. In second match, IRP-11th Battalion registered 4-3 goals victory over JKAP-5th Battalion. The third match was played between JKAP-8th Battalion and JKAP-7th Battalion, in which former emerged winner by solitary goal, whereas in the fourth match, IRP-18th Battalion registered one goal victory over IRP-8th Battalion. In the fifth match, IRP-14th Battalion registered victory over JKAP-6th Battalion by five goals to zero.
In Handball, IRP-19th Battalion registered victory over JKAP-12th Battalion by 10-6 goals, IRP-18th Battalion thrashed IRP-11th Battalion by 8-7 goals and JKAP-8th Battalion got walkover against JKAP-5th Battalion.
In Basketball (Men), IRP-18th Battalion thrashed IRP-4th Battalion, IRP-16th Battalion trounced JKAP-7th Battalion, JKAP 6th Battalion routed JKAP-9th Battalion, IRP-7th Battalion beat IRP-9th Battalion, JKAP-13th Battalion defeated IRP-11th Battalion, IRP-19th Battalion beat IRP-7th Battalion, IRP-8th Battalion defeated JKAP-14th Battalion, IRP-3rd Battalion thrashed IRP-2nd Battalion, JKAP-13th Battalion trounced IRP-13th Battalion, IRP-17th Battalion outplayed IRP-16th Battalion, IRP-18th Battalion trounced JKAP-8th Battalion and JKAP-12th Battalion defeated JKAP-6th Battalion. In women category, the first Match played between IRP-12th Battalion and IRP-19th Battalion, in which latter emerged winner by 22-14 points. Salma was the main scorer with 8 points, whereas in second match, JKAP-12th Battalion and JKAP-9th Battalion, in which JKAP-9th Battalion registered victory by 10-08 points. Dimple scored 4 points.
In Hockey, IRP-17th Battalion got walkover against JKAP-6th Battalion, IRP-4th Battalion beat IRP-20th Battalion by 9-0 goals, IRP-19th Battalion got walkover against JKAP-7th Battalion and IRP-7th Battalion got walkover against JKAP-14th Battalion.
In Kabaddi, IRP-19th Battalion thrashed IRP-12th Battalion by 28-3 points, JKAP-5th Battalion faced defeat from IRP-10th Battalion by 29-1 points, IRP-6th Battalion defeated AP-13th Battalion by 30-16 points, JKAP-6th Battalion thrashed IRP-14th Battalion by 30-27 points, JKAP-14th Battalion faced defeated on to the hands of IRP-17th Battalion by 34-9 points, IRP-8th Battalion trounced IRP-11th Battalion by 29-1 points and IRP-3rd Battalion got walkover against IRP-2nd Battalion.
In Kho-Kho, IRP-17th Battalion thrashed IRP-9th Battalion by 8 points, IRP-19th Battalion faced defeat on to the hands of IRP-12th Battalion 15 points, IRP-15th Battalion defeated IRP-17th Battalion by 2 points and IRP-15th Battalion beat IRP-19th Battalion by 8 points.
In Volleyball, JKAP-5th Battalion, IRP-10th Battalion, IRP-16th Battalion, IRP-20th Battalion, IRP-19th Battalion, IRP-12th Battalion, IRP 12th Battalion, JKAP-8th battalion and IRP-16th Battalion registered wins.
In Wrestling, Ishrat Naheer and Sangeeta Koul emerged winners in 48 kg category, Mehraz Kossar and Ishey Chesdol in 51 kg category, Anita Devi and Ishering Yasche in 55 kg category, Kunzis Dolma and Isring Dolkar in 59 kg category, Anita Devi and Saroz Bala in 63 kg category, Sunita Devi and Muneera Bibi in 67 kg category, Jyoti Devi and Munnera Akhter in 72 kg category.
